When art happens, lives change!
Our Education and Community Outreach programs change the lives of over 5,000 school children every year. We are committed to integrating the arts into our diverse community whether through a stellar performance or an interactive lesson in the classroom!
A Beautiful Kindness Project
The Shubert will be asking people to share their Random acts of kindness with us on social media during Random Act of Kindness Week (Feb 11-17, 2018). Participants will be entered to win tickets to Beautiful: The Carol King Musical in March or copies of the show’s amazing soundtrack.
The Shubert has partnered with the New Haven Land Trust to create kindness rock gardens in the Fair Haven Library Garden, the Truman Street Community Garden, and the Winchester Community Garden. Rock painting sessions at the Shubert are scheduled for:
- Sunday 10/29 11am-3pm during Free Family Fun Day
- Wednesday 11/1 10:30am-12:30pm
- Saturday 11/4 10:30am-12:30pm
All are welcome to come and help us paint kindness rocks!
CAPA COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
This program is designed to provide New Haven based organizations with cultural and entertainment opportunities for those in the community who might not have the opportunity to experience the performing arts. Each season tickets to Shubert shows are distributed to over 100 groups in the community through the Capa's Community Connections program. Performances generally include Broadway, dance, and family events. To apply, please click here.
