This weekend, Yale Opera presents Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, a "life-affirming" and intense romantic fairytale that follows the story of a blind princess who falls in love with a prince who helps her regain her sight. Featuring an exciting young cast from the Yale School of Music, American bass-baritone David Pittsinger '86MM as King René, stage direction from Danilo Gambini, and joined by the Yale Philharmonia, led by Met Opera conductor J. David Jackson, this production will sweep you off your feet.
The opera will be performed in Russian with English surtitles.
