We stand with our community.

During the most difficult times in our country’s history, people have turned to the performing arts to lift their spirits with hope and inspiration. Since its opening, the Shubert Theatre has strived to provide a common ground for us to gather to celebrate how our diversity unites us as a community. This mission is the cornerstone of what we believe and what we work for each day.

But there are times when hoping for the future is not enough. There are moments when we need to acknowledge our divisions and our shortcomings, so that we can work together to solve our problems. If we ignore our challenges, we will never find the hope and unity that we all desire.

We support those that peacefully protest the senseless killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and many others and we join those that call for greater efforts to eliminate racism and inequality in our community. We acknowledge that we have a duty to play a role in those efforts and we pledge to do so, on an individual level and as an organization. We do not know what all the answers are, but we will make every effort to engage our community in conversation as we search for ways to make our world better.
