apART Together Concerts


The Shubert Theatre will treat patrons to a new Free Virtual concert series:
“ApART Together” running for three Saturdays in September (Sept. 12, 19 and 26).

This free Facebook series will stream 30-minute sets from local artists, offering viewers the chance to connect with a wealth of local talent and providing them with the opportunity to perform while venues are still closed.

Fernanda and The Ephemeral aka FaTE is comprised of a core of five individuals writing music from the soul. Hailing out of the New Haven area, the group met in the WCSU music program and have been writing together since the summer of 2018. The group is modular and presents itself as a duo, trio, quartet or full 5-piece band. FaTE has performed with bands such as Phat A$tronaut, Nikita, The Sweet Lizzy Project, Thabisa, Tameca Jones and others in the New Haven and Bridgeport areas. FaTE has performed at venues such as Cafe 9, Strange Brew Pub, The Acoustic Cafe, 33 Golden and the Ives Concert Park. They are looking forward to moving your mind and body with their sonic grooves. Benny Mikula/The Lone Gnome

Benny Mikula is the lead singer/guitarist and chief songwriter for the popular Bridgeport based 7 piece The Alpaca Gnomes. Benny was born in New Haven and began his Singer/Songwriter career while living off of State St just outside the 9th Square. Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Eddie Vedder and a solo excursion riding on the train along he West Coast in his twenties, Benny wrote many songs that are featured on the two Gnomes releases while living in his New Haven apartment. He is currently planning a solo album for late 2020 release and worked on the third Alpaca Gnomes record.

Phat A$tronaut is an organically grown, experimental soul ensemble from the funkier parts of Connecticut. The band formed shortly after singer/songwriter, Chad Browne-Springer, and guitarist/musical director, Mark Lyon, met on a D'Angelo tribute gig. Their sound consists of booty shaking rhythms and meticulously crafted arrangements with pop sensible songwriting at the forefront. The group acknowledges many influences, including Prince, Hendrix, D'Angelo, Erykah, Fela, Frank Ocean, Knower, Hiatus Kayote, Anderson .Paak and many more, while maintaining undeniable originality.
