Yale Opera presents Eugene Onegin

Show Details

  • Yale Opera presents Eugene Onegin at the Shubert Theatre

  • Yale Opera presents a new production of Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky’s earnest treatment of Pushkin’s beloved verse novel about irrepressible love, heartless dismissal, and tormenting regret. Nearly a century and a half after the opera’s premiere by students in Moscow, Stage Director Paul Curran and the Yale Opera reintroduce us to the title narcissist and his soul-bearing admirer, and Perry So conducts the Yale Philharmonia through the score to a story the composer understood all too well.

Read about Paul Curran's experience directing Eugene Onegin - Curran will continue to take us behind the scenes of the rehearsal process and the performances in his upcoming blogs.

The performance will be sung in Russian with English supertitles.
